Tell us about yourself.
Hi! I am Eva. I am the Junior Creative Director at Marcella. I am a design enthusiast and a bit of a workaholic. It gives me great joy to find creative solutions to all the challenges I am faced with! At the same time, I am laid back and a homebody in my free time. I enjoy sunbathing with my cat and snuggling in bed watching 90's New York rom-coms.
Where are you from?
I was born and bred in Taipei, Taiwan. I joined Marcella via an internship in 2017. I never thought that I would eventually get a job offer that allowed me to immigrate to the US but here we are!
"It gives me great joy to find creative solutions to all the challenges I am faced with!"
Can you tell us more about what you do here at Marcella?
I help with managing all things creative - creating newsletters, ads, banners, photo shoots. I'm also involved in deciding the marketing calendar. Finally, I participate in the design process of each product, from ideating to fitting, as well.
What do you enjoy most about working at Marcella?
It is the fast-paced, ever-changing aspect of our brand that I enjoy the most. I love that we are performance-driven but also bold enough to make important creative decisions dynamically.
What has been your personal experience with education?
It has always been inspiring and empowering, from the girls’ high school to the design university I attended. Not only did I have access to incredible resources and teachers, but I was also lucky to be around creative, hardworking and intelligent peers, who continuously inspire me with the heights they are achieving.
What does education mean to you?
A key to unlocking opportunity and the fuel for personal growth.
What is one item in your wardrobe that you can't live without?
I can't live without a comfortable, black turtleneck. My style has changed a lot in the past 2-3 years, but I am still always restocking the turtleneck. At design school, we had the unspoken “design school uniform,” which was a turtleneck and a good pair of jeans. I continue to wear that regularly.

How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is classic, but I love to mix and match big and small silhouettes. I wear a lot of menswear-inspired essentials like trench coats, big dress shirts, wool blazers and oversized dress pants. I love pairing them with small, fitted and more feminine tops like our Eloise Top, Esme Top and Selma Bolero.
How do you put your personal 'stamp' on a winter outfit?
Chunky earrings and geometric leather goods are my go-to's. I feel naked if I leave the house without wearing a pair of earrings. The Carnegie Boots and Kelly Tote are my favorites for leather goods. I wear them almost every day.
What is your favorite piece from your Marcella capsule?
The Raphaela Boyfriend Shirt. The bat-wing sleeves and big pleats on the cuffs give it volume and statement. (It's also very slimming!) Every time I wear it to a photo shoot, I get questions and compliments from the crew.
What advice would you have for people looking to hone their personal style?
Be observant. To me, it's most important to feel empowered, comfortable and the most “myself” in the outfits I wear. Observing which outfits make me feel this way guide my personal style.
