Women have long been the architects of social change. On International Women’s Day (IWD), we're celebrating their immeasurable impact—both on history and in our very own lives—while confronting the work still ahead. The reality is, systemic barriers continue to slow progress down, and full gender equality isn’t projected to take place until 2158.
This year’s IWD theme, Accelerate Action, is a call to ramp up the urgency. Today, we're answering that call by doubling our support for our School Days Project—but every day, we remain committed to putting women first across Marcella's four core pillars and pushing for a more just, inclusive world with everything we do.
To fuel the fight, we turn to inspiring stories like Fiona Mavhinga’s—a CAMFED alumna whose journey embodies the power of equal access.
Double School Days
In the spirit of Accelerating Action, this IWD, we are proudly supporting TWICE the normal number of school days for each garment sold, as part of our School Days Project. That means we’ll fund SIX full days of education for a girl in need. Thanks to our partnership with CAMFED, a global force for girls' education, we're making twice the difference in a single day.
At our current rate of progress, the path to gender equality is too slow—but together, we can rewrite the timeline. Every garment purchased, every story shared, and every action taken brings us closer to the world we envision. We stand ready to push the boundaries further, and so grateful to be doing it together with you. Happy International Women's Day!
