For our Marcella team, Giving Tuesday is a celebration of the principle of collective care.
We reaffirm our commitment to that ideal by upping the impact of our School Days Project, so that EVERY Marcella purchase made today will support six full days of education for a girl in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The School Days Project
Education is a fundamental human right, yet girls and women everywhere are still disproportionately denied equal access to it. With fashion as our vehicle, we at Marcella have made it part of our mission to help close that gap. It comes to life with our School Days Project: our year-round partnership with CAMFED (The Campaign for Female Education) to support girls’ education in Sub-Saharan Africa, where poverty excludes millions from the classroom.
Every Marcella design purchased by you helps fund school days for a girl in need. Each "school day" includes the pro rata cost of whatever she may need to attend school for a day: her uniform, school fees, transportation, lunch, menstrual products, and more – as tailored by her personal needs. Over the past 5 years, together with CAMFED and you, we've now supported over 1,000,000 school days for underprivileged girls!
Giving Tuesday School Days Initiative
Today, like on every Giving Tuesday, we're upping our typical number of school days supported. For each purchase made on our site during Giving Tuesday, we'll fund SIX days of education for a girl in need. That means your support will help a girl go to school for that much longer, allowing a bright future to take ever more shape.
