The beauty of new beginnings? They’re a chance to rediscover yourself, and your closet is the perfect place to start. Sorting through it is like flipping through the pages of an old journal, holding up each piece and asking, "Who was I when I bought this? How have I changed since then?"
While some pieces we'll refuse to live without, others we’ll have outgrown. The gaps they leave behind beg an open-ended question: who am I about to become, and what will she wear? What a thrilling prospect to consider!
So, how will your style evolve this year? Let's find out—complete with some tips for a wardrobe refresh and accompanying advice from members of the Marcella team.
Styled for Your Lifestyle
First, a little wardrobe reality check: what kind of clothes actually get the most wear? Tailored pieces for the office, sleek statements for late nights out, easy knits for chill nights in? Consider how far each piece will go in your day-to-day lifestyle and take comfort into account—pieces you love to look at won’t earn their keep if you don’t also love how it feels to wear them.
Our designer Emily weighs in with what she looks for in a wardrobe that’s as effortless as it is stylish:
Limitless Looks
When evaluating your closet, think "less"—seasonless, timeless and occasionless, that is. The most valuable pieces in your wardrobe are the go-anywhere, do-anything, day-to-night pieces that never met a season or a dress code they couldn't handle. Before deciding what stays and what goes, ask yourself if you can see the garment serving you year-round.
When it comes to the power of versatility, here’s our designer Mariana’s take:
The Magic of Material
Run your hands through your closet. Which pieces still look and feel as good as when you bought them? You might save money on cheaper materials now, but frequently replacing these pieces once they’re worn and torn costs you more in the long run. Opt for quality materials that are built to last, and your future self will thank you.
Our Co-Founder and Creative Director Siyana knows a thing or two about investment pieces:
Out with the Old, In with the You
Last but not least: think about what pieces make you feel most like yourself. Try to put that feeling into words—is it classic and polished, playful and bold, casual and carefree? Keep these adjectives in mind when you’re weighing what pieces to keep, add, and let go of. The goal is to make getting dressed a daily celebration of who you are.
As for how our Jr. Creative Director, Eva, curates joy in her wardrobe? She breaks it down:
A New Year wardrobe refresh is a moment of connection, one that recognizes and celebrates your growth and change. It's a chance to align with your authentic self, standing before whatever's next with gratitude for the journey here. We’re thrilled to be a part of yours. Here's to fresh starts in the new year—and to dressing for all the possibilities ahead.

Would you consider doing a blog or video on how to wear your sheer and cut-out styles with a bra? So many of your styles are gorgeous but impractical due to the placement of cutouts and mesh. I think you would sell so much with this bit of advice!!
